Jaimi brings over 20 years of dedicated experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors, cultivating a deep expertise in nonprofit development, grantmaking, organizational leadership, and board governance. As a lifelong learner and innovator, she has crafted innovative equity frameworks, collaborative funding models, and donor engagement strategies that position philanthropy as a powerful tool for transformative change.
As a bicultural Mexican-American and an equity champion, Jaimi advocates for trust-based philanthropy that prioritizes underrepresented BIPOC voices. She excels at building meaningful connections between communities and philanthropic resources, leveraging her unique ability to navigate relational dynamics to foster genuine trust and deep collaboration, to advance impactful outcomes.
Throughout her career, Jaimi has facilitated the distribution of over $200M in charitable gifts through donor-advised funds and foundations, employing strategic planning, project management, and best practices. In her role as Senior Philanthropic Advisor at the Marin Community Foundation, she partnered with individuals, families, and foundations to allocate more than $20M annually toward impactful grantmaking. Prior to this, she consulted for a $130M startup foundation, where she developed effective systems and measurable program outcomes. Additionally, as a senior program manager at the Women’s Foundation of California, she engaged nonprofits, donors, private funders, and community members to strengthen initiatives focused on gender justice and economic well-being.
Jaimi was the first in her family to graduate from college, earning her BA in Women’s Studies and Political Science from UCLA and her MBA from Pepperdine University. She actively participates in the UCLA Alumni Scholarship Committee, serves on the board of her local library and middle school, and is a giving circle member of the Latino Community Foundation and 100Marin. As a mother of a dynamic 11-year-old, she is committed to raising her child to be a strong, independent, and joyful individual.
